Ok…Imma be a little rough today…
This is for my readers who are not senior pastors…
OK…I hear it all the time…
I been called to preach…
But my pastor won’t let me preach…
I been called to preach…
But they keep giving all the opportunities to somebody else…
I been called to preach…
But…
But…
But…
You know what…
And I understand…
But I got a few things I want to say to you today…
Number one…
If you didn’t construct a new sermon…this week…
You ain’t ready…
Some of us have constructed a few “horses” that can “wreck the house” and when a call comes…we run with those…
But…
We don’t come with some bread warm from glory…
Don’t get up there half stepping and wonder why opportunities don’t come…
So if you ain’t preparing to preach…you ain’t ready to preach…
Quick this last month…how many sermons did you prepare?
If you ain’t said at lest 1…then you ain’t ready to preach…
Number two…
If you can’t be happy for somebody else…
You ain’t ready…
You mad cause somebody else got to preach…and you want somebody to be joyful over you when your time comes…
I betta not hear you complaining about some body else getting to preach…
God placed that one there for a reason…
Don’t get mad…prepare….get ready…God got something for you…
Number three…
If you ain’t taking advantage of all opportunities…
You ain’t ready to preach…
What am I talking bout?
The downtown mission in your church need some preaching and you ain’t volunteered…
Then you ain’t ready to preach…
The youth program needs somebody to give a though…
You ain’t volunteered…
Well then, You ain’t ready to preach…
The mens ministry luncheon needs someone to give a 5 minute thought…you said you couldn’t do it…
You ain’t ready to preach…
“What are you saying Brother Cox?”
I’m saying if you ain’t doing what God has placed in your path..then you ain’t ready…
Now…I will admit there are some times when one must move on.
But if you ain’t prepared….
If you ain’t happy for other’s blessings…
And if you ain’t taking advantage of your current responsibilities…then you are not even in a place to ask the question is it time to move on…
I implore you…
God called you…
So go head and do it…
