We did this series about a year and a half ago…so I thought you might want to see it again…
This question comes in periodically…
“How do you use a sermon outline?”
Yep…
A lot of folks think they already know the answer…but some want to make better use of it.
Now this is a large question that is gonna take more than a few minutes to answer…
So we gonna do a series.
There are a few components to this. First you will have to find a sermon outline. Then you will have to evaluate the sermon outline. Is it one you can work with.
Then you will need to transform the sermon into one that can be used…
Truth be told…you can find a ton of sermon outlines on the net…
And many of these sermon outlines can be transformed into something that you..and only you could preach…
But it is gonna take a little work…
It is true it ain’t as much work as creating a sermon totally from scratch…which is preferable…
But it is a lot more work than most folks who use sermon outlines do…
You see many people just take an outline…make no alterations to it…and then try to tack a whoop on at the end…
It don’t work…
The theology of the outline may not be right…
You should only preach a sermon that you agree with theologically…
The sermon outline may be a lecture rather than a sermon…Good information but doesn’t foster an experience…
You should only preach sermons that interact not just with the mind…but yes..the mind…body..and spirit…
The points of the sermon outline may not flow right…
Not ordered correctly…
And then after all that…
Do you even know how to turn a sermon outline into a sermon?
Well…we are going to answer all of these questions in the Sermon Outline Series…
If you have any questions you want me to answer…go head and reply to this email…
