Step 12…Get that celebration…
OK, this took a lot longer than I thought it would…
In about a month, I will go through these 12 steps again with one extended example.
A few of you have indicated a few steps here and there that you have missed. I was beginning to send those out and figured that I should ask everybody, do you have all 12 steps?
If you missed any of the steps, hit reply and send me an email letting me know what you need.
Now you need to celebrate the truth revealed in the sermon…
OK…what do you mean?
I mean if you asked a question to hold your sermon together…You celebrate the answer…
So you asked a question…
You gave three answers…
Then you celebrate THESE answers…
What if you simply told a story and embedded the three points in your sermon?
Then you celebrate how the story concluded. Or more specifically, how God revealed God’s-self in the story…
Basically, look at how your sermon is connected together and then find a way to celebrate it…
The materials for celebration should be in your notes…that’s why we wrote all of the songs, hymns, novels, movies, etc…
Find some way to celebrate the good news in your sermon…
I did a full seminar on this, check it out – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HLqKFSl3HTM
30 minutes today…
1) Pray.
2) Look at your exegesis notes…
3) Try to craft a celebration out of your sermon and exegesis…If you can’t go to step 4…otherwise jump to step 6…
4) Look at the songs you have noted and think about if you can use any of them to craft a celebration.
5) Look at the stories you have saved up and see if you can use any to craft a celebration…
6) Write up your celebration…
OK…your sermon is done…now it is time to practice…
While practicing you should note that the sermon will change. You will find better ways of saying some things..and you will find some things in your sermon that just don’t fit…
Congrats…now take a break…
But look for another email from me soon…
Maranatha,
Brother Sherman
