Oh Freedom…
Oh Freedom…
Oh Freedom over me…
And before I’ll be a slave
I’ll be buried in my grave
And go home to my Lord and be free…
***
What was it that could make the slave singer stand in the midst of hell?
What was it that empower the slave to see the worst that humanity can put on them and still stand forth with some degree of dignity?
What was it that allowed that slave to sing about freedom when many died never seeing it?
You know what…
You need to know that if you are going to preach powerful sermons that you need to key into whatever this “IT” is…
Cause you have folks who have issues up in your congregation…
Issues that require a higher power to address…
Higher than you…
Higher than them…
Higher than even the community…
They have issues…
So I encourage you to key into understanding some aspect of these “issues” when constructing and presenting sermons…
It is important to remember not just the “issues.”
[bctt tweet=”Preach Them Through The Issues To Something Greater. #SoulPreaching”]
You must find how the text helps folks through these “issues.”
The slaves knew about this “something” that helped them through it.
They knew and sang about the power…
Now in your sermons…preach the power…
See you tomorrow yall…
