Look at your sermons over the last year…
All of them…
Look at what you celebrated…
Look at the ethical demands in your sermons…
Look at Grace that you have or have not preached…
And Look at Power to live…
Look at the whole thing yall…
All of it…
Were you consistent?
Did you have weeks where you just “mailed it in?”
Now this year…
2018…
It is time for change…
Cause if you have never analyzed what you preach…
You may be surprised…
How one sided your preaching is…
How you always talk about sexual sin….in about all of your sermons…
Or maybe you always talk about “God gonna hook you up.”
Yep…some of us do that kind of preaching…
Or maybe you totally and fully neglected your denominational teaching…
Yeah…you Baptist…I assume that that means there is something in that faith that you think is important and valuable…But you didn’t preach it…
You Holiness…
You Pentecostal…
You Adventist…
You Methodist…
You only preached from the Old Testament…
Or…
You only preached from the Gospels…
Maybe you only preached from the letters…
Look closer at your preaching…
This year…I encourage you to resolve…to do something Biblical…
Preach the Whole Counsel of God (Acts 20:27)…

Did you Preach Personal Piety…
Heart religion. And how Christianity changes me individually.
Care of the Soul. Here is the talk of encouraging, renewal, sustaining. Helping the people just make it in a world against them.
Yes many of us either totally are in Personal PIety or totally HEart Religion, but you need to be preaching both over your ministry…
Social Justice is another. Here is preaching against racism, sexism, and other problems in the world…
And in the church…
Corporate Concerns. You should preach these as well. Issues of Community uplift is here. Sometimes you have to preach about how the Gospel does help us as a community. Sometimes good stewardship means helping our community in many ways including our preaching.
Finally, Maintenance of the Institutional Church…
The work of your local church…maintaining the intuition. Also your denominations teachings. Here is where all of that goes…
My sister and brother preachers…preach in all of these “domains.” Over 2018…and your preaching will go to another level…
